47 Ronin: A Below Average Samurai Movie in English (For Some Reason)

47 RoninDirector Carl Rinsch has created a Samurai film that has the big Hollywood glitz but firmly entrenched in the conflicting lower-grade but more interesting Japanese-style. This ultimately proves that if you are going to make a Samurai movie using that classic Japanese aesthetic just do that. Not this.

Premise: A band of samurai and a “half-breed” set out to avenge the death and dishonor of their master. Result: Lots of money spent to make a film that feels like it had no budget.  Not impressed.
